Biking To Phnom Udong - Fullday Tour - Private Tour

Udong is functioned as the capital of Cambodia between 1618 and 1866 and is home to impressive Khmer architecture that resembles the glory days of Cambodia. Journey To Kampong Chhnang - Fullday Tour - Private Tour

Kampong Chhnang is a small provincial town located 1.5 hours north-west of Phnom Penh meaning “Port of Pottery". STOP 1: LOTUS FARM
Lotus is a beautiful flower and very significant to the Cambodian people. It has many religious uses such as using them for praying to the Buddha, especially on the Buddhist holidays. Besides it's religious symbolism, the lotus also contains a small fruit. You might get the opportunity, if the framers are picking the fruit, to try it with your local guide.
STOP 2: SPECTACULAR RICE PADDIES 
You might be aware that the main land use in Cambodia is full of green areas or rice paddy fields. Here you can be amazed by the beautiful scenery of Kampot and witness farmers in operation. The farmers in Kampot are mostly still using the traditional farming ways; therefore, you will see how they do it differently compared to other developed countries. 



STOP 3: TRADITIONAL KHMER NOODLE
Most of you may miss the chance to taste Khmer noodle which are made by local people. At this stop you will see how locals make rice noodles and even try it if you wish. The process of producing Khmer noodle is complicated, but very interesting to see how they use smart techniques with what they have. Your guide will tell you and answer any questions and if they don't know they will ask the locals for help. Here you can take the opportunity to interact with the locals as they are very friendly. The kids in the countryside are also very energetic and friendly, you will always hear their beautiful voice along the way.

Roll Cake is one of Cambodian cake, which is many people called in different names. This small job can support the family for living. Also it has been transporting to other provinces in Cambodia. Stop 1: Salt Farming
Cambodia’s weather can be fairly extreme, and during the rainy season the rice paddies which make up Cambodia’s rural areas become almost completely submerged in water. As you take in this vast, beautiful scene, your tour guide (who may have had experience working in this sector themselves) will talk you through all the processes involved in Battambang’s agriculture, and its significance to the locals’ way of life. 
Stop 2: Rice farming ​  
You might be aware that the main land use in Cambodia is rice paddy fields. Here you can be amazed by the beautiful scenery of Kampot and witness farmers in operation. The farmers in Kampot are mostly still using traditional farming techniques; therefore, you will see how they do it differently compared to other developed countries. ​



Stop 3: Pepper Farm

Stop 4: Secret Lake
After learning about paper farming we will turn around to the next stop, which is called Secret Lake. The lake is actually an irrigation-dam built by forced labor under the Khmer Rouge regime. You may swim in the lake if you wish. ​
Stop 5: Historical Temple Caves
After cycling along the main road out of Siem Reap, your tour guide will take you to a rice wine distillery. The drink has a long history in this particular region, and is popular all over the Cambodian countryside.  The locals use rice wine not only for recreation, but also as a natural, holistic medicine for various illnesses.

This tour is made for those who look for natural aspects to a holiday, letting you explore the peaceful forests around Battambang by bicycle. Here, you’ll get a close up view of how nature and agricultural communities co-exist in rural Cambodia. The route itself is best suited for experienced cyclists, as there are a few challenging climbs, but these are broken up by patches of shade and interesting stops where you can relax and take in the spectacular views.

STOP 1: RICE PADDIES 
No trip to the Cambodian countryside would be complete without seeing the rice paddies which stretch for miles around the villages and forest. As we travel, you’ll be able to see the local farmers tending to their crops, and your tour guide will deliver a short, informative talk about the history and significance of this sector in the local area. 
STOP 2: FAMILY BUSINESS
At our next stop, you’ll meet a few of the locals and learn something of their day to day life in Battambang. In this small, rural community, dozens of families have come to depend on traditional skills and crafts, some of which have been handed down from generation to generation for centuries. You’ll find yourself surprised at the high quality of produce which comes out of this dated infrastructure.
STOP 3: PAGODA VISIT
Next, we’ll take a break from cycling to learn more about Khmer culture and customs. Pagodas of all sizes and designs are found all over East Asia, and hold special religious significance to millions. Here at Battambang’s local Pagoda, we’ll have the opportunity to talk to a few monks, and find out how and why they have dedicated their lives to a spiritual pursuit.



STOP 4: RICE STRAW MUSHROOM MAKING
Mushrooms, although not usually associated with Asian cuisine, are a central part to dozens of rural Cambodian dishes. After chaining up our bikes and walking among a few quaint cottages, we’ll meet one of the local rice straw mushroom makers. He’ll be happy to inform us on all the stages of his particular trade, and how many Cambodian families rely on the vegetable for a living.
STOP 5: RICE WINE
Towards the end of our tour, we’ll stop to learn about rice wine, a beverage made from local ingredients and to a traditional recipe. This drink is a big part of rural Cambodian culture, and is always present at special occasions such as weddings, birthdays and the Khmer New Year. Your guide will teach you about every stage of the distilling process, and if you’d like you’ll be able to try some of the wine fresh from the brewers!
